Why Is Everyone Screaming And Hollering About Skyp

I was perusing a Time magazine excerpt yesterday and found that there is a thing called skype phones that was sweeping the net.You would be astounded what these two bright sparks did to make themselves a small fortune, they sold it to ebay.So why am I getting so pumped up?.It is called voice over internet protocol.It is hardly a novel concept making a call to a friend over the world wide web without having to pay for it.

So all you have is rig up a phone to your laptop and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe.Saying that though it is not all plain sailing as a slow connection will be of no use to you.Great pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.

So I went on Ebay and yes you guessed it, they are flogging phones already due to skyp.Skype is going to be massive from the number of downloads we have witnessed since 2004.

The bigger commercial telecom firms are beginning to sell voice over internet protocol packages.The question on everyones tongues is will it last the distance.Will it take on the internet by storm, or is it just a passing fad

My guess is that it is still in its infancy and inevitably will go through a time where a lot of different firms will come up with different ways to do this.Then of course the feds will enter and regulate it.Skype has to make a dollar or two as well and they do this by billing consumers who phone home to their landlines from their computer

It looks like voice over interet protocol is also at the forefront of web video conferencing as well. Web video conferencing was a huge idea about ten years ago but then fell off the radar but now it is making a return

We are also seeing a huge amount of people using audio and video on the web now that download speeds are that much quicker.Some people claim that audio and video will be no big deal but I disagree, I think it will be massive.

Over the next few years we will see whether the free skype download takes off in the way many analysts predict.The question remains will voip take over from the phone.
